Upon arriving as soon as you enter the building after signing in and opening the door to gain entry you are assaulted by the mixed smell of urine and body funk. My sister asked me to bring a case of water because they gave her Ice and tap water from her room sink They do not wipe down light switches and door knobs until she mentioned to them about the matter She gets her medication two to three hours and ten minutes late she has major surgery and is constant pain because the meds are managed correctly Per Meditation management, a person only has one hour before and after prescribed time to take her pain meds Night time is the worst My other female Relative who is over 70 years old fell twice and waited over an hour for someone to check on her She fell on her knees and second time hit her head She was not even checked out by a doctor to make sure she has an injury from hitting her head on the floor This is neglect of a senior and will be reported to state No beds in the facility have bed rails when asked that is how it is Several patients have fallen out of the bed Roaches are in some of the bedrooms they run out of supplies to assist residents Staff trying to diagnosis’ the residents and say they are being dramatic and have simple fractures when this particular person had a surgery to reattach her foot to her leg Other residents they talk to them like they do not deserve respect or do not know what they are talking about in regard pain level and what is going with their bodies The staff yell at them like children and tell them if they do not like it here then leave What??!!! The first night staff told her when she has urinated in her adult diaper take off and drop on the floor she will get it in the morning Staff said she was 54 and her knee hurt so she could not assist her right now Night shift only has one nurse and one Cna to administers medications to about twenty residents They say they are understaffed and can not do anything about it but daytime before 8 pm is full of people and The weekend scarcely has any staff They do not make beds or clean the rooms daily We had to bring in cleaning supplies to clean her room. This place needs to be shut down asap!!! Call adult services DSS!!!

Went there to visit a family friend.and she can not feed her self but her tray was on her table ,no one came to feed her or even check on her the hole time we where ther…being a cna my self i fed ,washed her up and charged her..please check on your loveone because cna in this generation don’t care .poor place to have a loveone!!!!

I’m a private in home caregiver. My client just left this place after a month in rehab after an illness. I still went to work everyday with my client over her month long stay there. In my professional opinion, I would recommend this place. We had the best experiences there. Let me give an huge shout out to the activities ladies. They were on top of their game and came to my client’s room to remind her about activities to go to like bingo and live music. I have had other clients in nursing homes and rehab centers, and they have never had that much personal attention as the activities ladies gave my client from day one. They really do go above and beyond to try to get their clients out of the room and socializing, which is amazing for people‘s mental health. Emily and Katie were amazing as her physical therapists. She was kicking butt and walking better than before because of them! We even joked that my client can now walk a 5K with her walker. They gave my client attention and were very encouraging. Loved the team on our section, we were on A by the gym. The nurses and cna teams were fantastic. They were so kinda and took the time with my client to listen to her (my client is a talker). The food was great and the green beans were amazing. They even had a family & friends Thanksgiving last week which was beautiful. My client even made friends because the other people that lived there were so sweet. My client loved the team there so much that as we were leaving today she made us go around to tell everyone who made her feel safe and comfortable goodbye, which was pretty much everyone.

First review I have ever written. Lots of very caring frontline people. OT, PT, speech, nurse Patel, and the kitchen staff to say a few. However, worst administrative team I’ve dealt with in any business. Never ran insurance, but cashed a check on day 1 after telling us it was required. Promised a refund in full at the end of August after we corrected their insurance mistake. Almost 3 months since the check was cashed and no resolution. After my uncle passed, they refuse to provide any bills, proof of insurance submittal, or the initial refund. All I have is a declined EOB that BCBS didn’t receive until last week. How is that possible? PLEASE keep an eye on the financial side if your family members come here. I fear for those who don’t have anyone asking questions. If I didn’t call insurance on his behalf, he would have continued to pay out of pocket without having any idea.

I had an amazing support system when transitioning my aunt from out of state to Charleston. They followed up in a timely manner and worked with the other facility to make the transition a seamless process. I am grateful for Ashley Green and all her help to make this happen for our family.

Rooms were not clean. No working toilet. Dad was a fall risk. No attendant. No walker. No bed rails.

Sarah was the best ST that I have had before. She was so understanding. My PT, OT were both great. I had fun being here for my rehab.

My mom is a resident at Cooper River and they have been a blessing. My mom has dementia and alzhimers disease and needed 24 hour care. Everyone knows my mom and loves her. The nurses and staff are amazing. I want to mention Nurse Nelson, Jessica , Jasmine ,, they all treat my mom like their own mother. My mom loves to be in activities and always enjoys being there. Omg I want to name everyone but this will be a novel. Everyone that works at Cooper River is wonderful. Ashley Green in admissions was so helpful and professional and made my moms transition easy. I visit daily and my mom is happy. Her room is always clean and so is the whole facility. I cannot thank everyone enough for taking care of my mom.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident My father used to stay at Cooper River Post Acute, and I don’t have anything good at all to say about them. The upkeep was horrible. The rooms don’t have phones in them (I think all nursing homes should have phones in the patients’ rooms). There are no call buttons if the patient needs help or has a life-threatening emergency, and I don’t like that. The staff was horrible. I was put as his point of contact on his paperwork, and I was never contacted whenever my dad was leaving the facility and being transported by EMS to the emergency room. I always found out by just trying to come up there and see my dad, and a nurse telling me he’s not in his room because he was transported to the emergency room two nights ago. The staff themselves, their uniforms, were not kept up professionally. There was no communication when it came to my dad and his health issues. I ended up having to file a complaint, and the director ended up contacting me about my complaint.

I know that this administration and staff has gone through a lot of change and they couldn’t care about their patients anymore than they do. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone 10/10

This facility has gone through multiple changes over the years, however, under this new administration, you can see a world difference in progress. Slowly but surely the facility (a very old building) is getting a face lift and the current team is being new life. The kitchen team makes amazing food! Specially the chicken Parmesan!!! It’s. A meal you don’t want to miss !!!

My Dad was here last year for a few months until he passed. It took a bit to get to know the staff but when I did I had nothing but respect for the ones that took care of my Dad. They loved my Dad. They always knew how to put a smile on his face. I feel that he was in the best place with the best people in his last few months of life. It is a big place and the staff are crazy busy but the majority of the ones I came in contact with really cared. Thank you to the entire staff. ~The Ketterman Family
